Business Financing

Access to capital is one of the most consistent barriers facing otherwise viable businesses in Cameroon — not a shortage of opportunity, but a shortage of structured, appropriately-matched financing. Afrifarms Investment offers business financing to eligible Cameroonian businesses, alongside our broader facilitation work, to help close that gap for companies with a genuine growth trajectory.

Our financing is aimed at businesses that are commercially sound but underserved by conventional lending — companies with a proven operating model, a credible growth plan, and a real need for capital to expand production, upgrade equipment, enter new markets or strengthen working capital.

What We Finance

Working capital

Bridging finance to manage cash flow, inventory and seasonal production cycles.

Equipment & asset finance

Financing for machinery, processing equipment, vehicles and productive assets.

Expansion capital

Funding to scale existing operations, add capacity, or enter new markets or regions.

Agro-processing & value addition

Financing tied to moving up the value chain, from raw production into processing and packaged goods.

Trade finance

Support for import/export transactions, supply-chain financing and cross-border trade.

Bridge financing

Short-term capital to carry a business through to a larger investment round, contract payment, or harvest cycle.

Who Is Eligible

We assess every application on its merits, but eligible businesses generally show:

  • A registered, operating business in Cameroon with a demonstrable track record
  • A clear, credible use of funds tied to growth or operational need
  • Reasonable financial record-keeping and the ability to demonstrate repayment capacity
  • Alignment with our priority sectors — agriculture and agribusiness, food systems, manufacturing, logistics, energy, digital economy, infrastructure, healthcare and education
  • A management team capable of executing the plan the financing supports

We are particularly interested in businesses positioned to create local jobs, transfer skills, strengthen supply chains, or move Cameroonian production up the value chain — consistent with our broader commitment to local value creation.

How Our Financing Process Works

  1. Application & Initial Screening — You submit basic information about your business, its financing need, and how the funds will be used.
  2. Eligibility Review — We assess the business against our eligibility criteria and sector priorities.
  3. Business & Financial Assessment — We review your operating history, financial position, management capacity and growth plan in more detail.
  4. Structuring — Where a business qualifies, we work with you to structure financing terms appropriate to the need — amount, tenor, repayment structure and any conditions.
  5. Approval & Disbursement — Approved financing is disbursed according to the agreed structure and use-of-funds plan.
  6. Monitoring & Support — We stay engaged post-disbursement, tracking performance against the plan and remaining available to support the business as it grows.

Business financing decisions are made on a case-by-case basis, subject to eligibility assessment, available capital and sector fit. Businesses are expected to provide accurate financial information and to use financing strictly for its stated purpose.
